Connor and Tracy are definitely not the typical love story. They were roommates before they dated, they moved to Texas together before they were married, and they now have Tracy's three year old Daughter Lilly as a part of their family.
Though not typical, their love for one another has proved itself to be true. I have never felt more proud of my little brother than at the moment he made his commitment to be a loving husband to Tracy and Father to Lilly. I feel so honored to have been able to surrender my role as a best man and capture this unique and beautiful love story on film.
I love you both and am so proud of you guys. We will support you and help you in any way we can.

If Calvin and Milo were dog balloons...

Our kids went to a magic show today where the magician magically made them some balloon dogs. Milo wanted a blue one too but I guess he didn't say it loud enough. He came home with the orange dog on the right while Calvin came home with the blue "dog" on the left. This is seriously the condition of the two dogs when the boys came home and showed me what they got.
When I showed Vali the balloons she mentioned how the state of the dogs really sum up the differences between our two boys. Milo is pretty organized, structured, obedient, and likes things to be orderly while Calvin... well... just look at the balloon.
Don't worry, we're not putting them in boxes.

My good friend Dog (Jeff Pray) and I took our 4 boys out to dinner. We are going for the "dad of the year" award this year...
It was pretty much awesome and we got some sweet looks.

Sorry for the lag in posts. We found out last week that our landlord wishes to sell our house... so we have to move out. A new baby, 6 weddings in 6 weeks, Vali's back at work and 100 degree weather... PERFECT TIMING!!!!
So you know what we did? We became the freakin' Lords over our own Land! Boo Yah! We bought a house. I will put some pics up here for you all to see as soon as we get over there again. Thanks for being patient.

So we went to Costco. Every woman aged 30-60 either laughed at us or made a comment about me having my hands full. As if I wasn't aware of that. I should start responding by pointing out the obvious to them. "Oh yeah, my hands are full, and your hair is really frizzy. Have you considered switching conditioners?"

We didn't end up actually buying anything, but I'm still proud that we did it.

A River with Water!

We were SO excited today when we woke up and saw water in the river behind our house. Our kids are a bit confused now... they thought a river was a large flowing mass of sand and dirt... but hopefully they will understand someday that things in Bakersfield aren't always the way they should be.

While this doesn't sum up the day (it wasn't too bad) I thought this was pretty funny. I told Vali that when she got home I would make dinner so she could hang out with the kids for a while. So tonight I busted into one of our pre-made meals our friends so graciously made us. The cookies bag said the temp and time to cook these doggers at.... and I still managed to turn the cookies into a bunch of turds. Sorry to whoever made these delicious cookies for us.

For those of you that don't know... the things on the boys heads are breast pads. They are used by breast feeding mothers to combat leakage. Our boys think they are hats though and rush to put those little yamikas every time Vali feeds Oliver. So... mazel tav!

I've heard a lot of people's reasons for having kids, but I'm pretty sure we have kids to make ourselves feel good. I have these three little guys... two of them know how to talk... and I know that they represent half of me. So when they say things like "Poscible" instead of popsicle... or "lasterday" instead of yesterday, I laugh and think to myself "man I must be pretty funny and cute!"

First off I have to say let's all give it up to Vali for the amazing videography skillz in this video. Yeah baby! I know I should be nice... I mean after all I am a professional and shouldn't hold her to the same standards, but seriously, come on.

Second, I would like to say how proud I am of my son refusing to take part in this horrible church tradition of sticking our kids on stage and making them sing a song about not being super. I think he's super... and I'm pretty sure Jesus thinks he's super too. As a side note I am also proud that he convinced his girlfriend to take part in the anarchy as well.

The DUGGARs...

So there's this show on TLC where this family (the Duggars) have had a kid every year for 18 years. The best part is the show is called 18 kids and counting... cause this lady is always pregnant. I don't think Jim Bob (the dad) even lets Michelle (the mom) get out of the hospital without impregnating her again. We are starting to freak out that people think that we are the next Duggars. We're not. We will be taking some drastic measures to end this continuously flowing river of children. Otherwise, I'll have to get a wide angle lens or something to keep this little tradition up.

Yes, their ages are currently 2, 1, and 0.

What the heck are we going to do this summer?

I've started asking people for creative ideas of what the heck to do with the boys this summer. With three little guys I'm pretty much doomed to house arrest when Vali goes back to work. So, I ask Vali's uncle the other day what they did with their three little boys during the Bako summers... "I think they just played in the dirt" was his reply. "So, for 3 or 4 months you just stuck them outside in the dirt?" I asked not believing the simplicity of his answer. "Yeah" he replied. "So was there any shade or anything?" I asked trying to get more details. "No... kids are more resistant to the heat than we are."

So, with Uncle Greg as my inspiration, I took the kids down to Toys R' Us and we bought some tractors. Turns out he might be right... they spent an hour and a half out there today playing in the dirt. Lucky for them, we have some shade.

And Oliver did what Oliver does best... he kicked it in his car seat.

This is the second video shot with our new Flip video camera. I would recommend one of these for everyone. They are super cheap and so much easier to carry around and actually use then a standard video camera. Thanks Steve and Grace for hooking it up on the Flip.

We had such a great time visiting you all! Thanks especially to my mom and dad for letting us stay in their Berkeley condo. We definitely wouldn't have been able to stay so long without it.

Milo smacked his head on the coffee table tonight. So Vali wrapped him up using her CPR trainer Certification skillz. He keeps saying he has a "big awesome band aid" on his head. I can't wait to see his big awesome Goose Egg in the morning. I'll take a picture of that too.

Christmas Tree Shopping

So we learned this year that Christmas Tree prices do not go up in a rational way. The 6 foot tree we bought was 60 bucks. The 8 foot tree we looked at was 130 bucks and not nearly as nice. I guess that extra two feet is really tough to grow.

WE celebrated halloween with our Church, LBC, this year. It was seriously legit and such a better alternative to trick or treating. The kids had so much fun... except Calvin cried every time we had to get him out of that train.

Milo was showing off his new chonies tonight. No, he is not potty-trained... not even close. But like Vali said, we should make every kid wear cowboy boots and boxer briefs cause it makes them cuter. Calvin however is potty trained... we have trained him to go to the bathroom in his diaper while sitting on the pot. It is amazing.

Oh yeah... Calvin ate a flower that was part of an arrangement on our kitchen counter the other day during breakfast. His grandma GG took this picture of him later that day. The pollen from the flower stained his entire face and both hands.

I got some glide cams a couple of days ago and am trying to master them. Here is some video I shot of the family this morning. It has been amazing so far using these but I am also realizing how weak I am. My arm was shaking after 3 minutes. We took our chitlin's down to the Kern County Fair. We watched Kelly Pray chase some cows on her horse and I (Curtis) almost got in a fist fight with a 60 year old lady... she was really tough. I ate a $6 cinabon that Nick Chapman bought me and a 32 ounce Coors Light. Heluva night.

Milo and I were reading a Thomas the Train book today called "Green Train, Blue Train". After we finished the book I asked Milo which train was blue. He answered "Thomas". I asked him which train was green. He answered "Percy".
He then looked at a picture of his cousin Madeira in the hallway and asked me "what color is Dooda?"
I said "I don't know Milo what color is Dooda?" He answered "She's blue."
"Oh" I said, "what color is Milo?"
He looked down at his black shirt and answered, "I'm black."
"And what color is calvin?"
Milo looked at Calvin walking around in a blue shirt and answered, "He's blue too."

It's like no matter how hard you try you are destined to become a Yuppie. It is for that reason that Vali and I strapped on the Rollerblades and cruised the gated community. We are going to try and Roller blade with the kids every night as our form of exercise. Hopefully Vali will get a little better so we can pass the brisk walk pace. Calvin Gregory Nemetz is Here!

On August 8th Vali and I went out to dinner for one last date before Calvin joined our lives. We never got our food. Vali went into labor in the middle of the restaurant and so we had to leave. We got to the hospital around 11pm and then she had Calvin at 11:54 the next morning. Fortunately they let us go home today around noon. Mom and baby are doing great (I have always wanted to say that and sound like a total nerd). Enjoy the slide show and feel free to comment on our new little booger. We were going to go to the zoo but realized Milo probably wouldn't even be able to find the animals. So we went to a petting zoo instead. We took a trip up to the Bay Area this week for Vali's weekend to visit friends and family. Milo got to see his Great-grandma Nemetz who is 83 years old and LOVES Milo. Milo got to meet his dad's cousins Kevin and Kyle and Aunt Cindy for the first time. He especially liked Kevin and crawled all over him while we were there. We stayed with Milo's Papa in Berkeley and Papa cooked an amazing meal for us all. Milo is definately a lucky boy to have so much family that loves him so much. Milo has learned to hold on to things and stand up on his knees or feet. The problem is once he gets up he doesn't know how to get back down. I don't know if you can see it in the pictures but he has two bruises/ bumps on his forehead. We are pretty sure these are the first of many wounds for our busy little boy.

Sorry... this is not a Milo blog entry but is about Curtis. I figure since we are having another kid our blog can be for the whole family, not just Milo. Last weekend I had the chance to record some piano tracks for Cara Flory (a famous singer/songwriter and Joel's wife check out the Flory family blog link to the right for more pictures). It was cool being in this amazing studio playing Fernando Ortega's former piano. I will let you all know when the CD comes out. It will be a part of a project called "Strumm".

Milo is Back

Milo boy has been sick for what feels like 3 months. Finally, last night he slept through the night without screaming, coughing, or running a 102 fever. So I thought I would celebrate by blogging myself silly. Enjoy.

For some reason I kept calling Milo a "BoppyCock" when he was wearing this outfit. I have no idea what that means and I hope it isn't a profanity in England.
